Questions, answered generically.

If an answer would require your grant, your tax return, or your trading window, it is not on this page.

Is this tax, legal, or investment advice?+

No. Malik on Money is educational marketing. Nothing on the site is a recommendation to buy, sell, exercise, donate, or hold a security, and nothing is a personalized tax or legal plan. Your CPA, attorney, and (if you are an insider) counsel own those answers.

What happened to Money Talk with Malik?+

The public brand is Malik on Money. Same person, same WSFG / Global Frontier Capital disclosures. The site now lives at malikonmoney.com and publishes general equity-compensation and liquidity education for executives, employees, and founders in technology. The old website address redirects here. Email still uses moneytalkwithmalik.com.

Who is this written for?+

Executives, employees, and founders in technology whose compensation includes company stock: RSUs, ISOs and NSOs, ESOP interests, concentrated or insider employer stock, and equity approaching a liquidity event. Talks and notes are general education for a broad audience, not guidance for any one person, grant, tax return, or trade.

What is the difference between RSUs and stock options?+

RSUs are usually a promise of shares after vesting. Options are a right to buy shares at a strike. ISOs and NSOs are taxed differently. Vesting is not liquidity. See the stock-options note for the generic map. Your grant agreement controls.

Can you tell me when to exercise or sell?+

Not on this site. Timing depends on strike, FMV, cash, AMT facts, trading windows, and insider status. That is a professional meeting with documents, not a blog post.

What is a 10b5-1 plan?+

A written trading arrangement some insiders use to schedule transactions in advance under SEC rules, with cooling-off and other conditions. This site does not draft or time one. Start with issuer counsel and the insider policy.

What is direct indexing?+

Owning individual stocks that make up an index, often in a separately managed account, sometimes to underweight a name you already hold. Fees, wash sales, and account type matter. It is not a default recommendation.

What is a charitable remainder trust?+

An irrevocable trust that can pay a stream to non-charitable beneficiaries with a remainder to charity. People discuss CRTs after large liquidity events. They are not donor-advised funds. Irrevocable means irrevocable. Talk to an estate attorney and a CPA.

Are you still an advisor?+

Malik Amine is an Investment Advisor Representative with Wealth Strategies Financial Group, CRD #7338573. The public website is education and marketing, not an advisory recommendation. Any future engagement has its own disclosures and paperwork.

Are the case studies real clients?+

No. The case studies are hypothetical, composite educational scenarios. They are not testimonials, not results, and not a record of an engagement. They exist so a social post can point at a full educational note instead of a caption.

Where are the official social accounts?+

Malik on Money is @malikonmoney on LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok. The Facebook Page displays as Malikonmoney and is linked by its numeric Page ID until a username is available. The /follow page lists every official profile. Captions are education, not advice.
